We had an UDDERLY fantastic time at the Jackson County Youth Fair Parade on October 3rd! 🐮🤠 Our team was MOO-ving and grooving on our cow-themed float, and we had a legen-DAIRY time showing our support for the community!

On Wednesday, September 16th we lost Jamey Collinsworth, a beloved leader, colleague and friend. As many of you came to know, Jamey never met a stranger. He took time to get to know people, learn their names and take a genuine interest in their lives. That is what made him so good at his job and what made him a pillar of every community he joined.

Jamey demonstrated his love and passion for life every day, with his unwavering service to others and to his community, his loyal bond with his customers, his dedication to friends and colleagues, and most of all by his love and devotion to Charlotte and his family.

We will miss him every day, but equally we will thank him for what he taught us. Jamey was in the midst of planning his next signature cookout in October. We will resolutely go ahead with his plan and give everyone the opportunity to reminisce and remember our Aggie, hunter, banker, Lion, collector, joker, chef, family man, husband and friend Jamey.

Rounding out our two resident chef's Summer Recipe Series with Jamey's Orange Slice Cookies. If you're going somewhere this Labor Day Weekend, these would be the perfect sweet treat to bring with you. Happy end of summer everyone!

Orange Slice Cookies

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup orange slice candies, finely chopped
- 1 cup dates, finely chopped
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cream together the crisco and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
3. Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
4. Add dry ingredients gradually into wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
5. Stir in orange slices, dates, pecans and coconut.
6. Roll into balls and place 3 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until lightly golden. Do not overbake.
8. Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
