The Delaware River joint Toll Bridge Commission is lighting several of its bridges orange tonight for National MOVE OVER Day.

Move Over laws require drivers to move over to the next lane when there's a disabled vehicle along a roadway shoulder. If a driver can't move to another lane, they should slow down to pass safely.

This Saturday, October 17 is National MOVE OVER Day. Remember to MOVE OVER or Slow Down when passing a stopped or disabled vehicle. It's the law.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission will light several of its bridges orange on Saturday to bring awareness to this important campaign.

Let's save lives and get everyone home safely.

This morning, fog blanketed the Delaware River, restricting visibility on many DRJTBC bridges. Fog often forms around the Delaware due to warm, moist air moving over the cold water of the river.

When driving through fog, remember to use your low-beam headlights or fog lights if you have them. Never use your high beams, as these can cause glare and make it more difficult to see what's ahead. Slow down and leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) recently awarded contracts for a 2027 project that will reconstruct sidewalks, replace supporting steel work, and improve drainage on the Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge’s adjoining New Jersey approach viaduct.

Project preparations are expected to begin later this year with measuring and surveying of the project area and purchasing of materials. It’s anticipated that demolition and construction activities – with corresponding travel impacts for drivers and pedestrians – will begin in early 2027 and continue into fall 2027.

The Centre Bridge-Stockton and New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridges are scheduled to be shut down to all vehicular traffic for respective 30-minute-long durations on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The temporary traffic closures will occur at different times at each bridge somewhere between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The non-concurrent short-duration closures will enable Commission maintenance personnel to repaint the centerlines on each bridge. The bridges’ pedestrian walkways will remain open.

Sign reflectivity assessments at the DRJTBC’s 10 toll-supported vehicular bridges were completed this week! The specialized inspections were conducted by a Commission subconsultant over the course of two nights, working from the Lower Trenton Bridge north to the Riverton-Belvidere Bridge.

Reflective signs improve nighttime navigation and reduce the risk of crashes by bouncing light from vehicle headlights back to the driver's eyes, making signs appear brighter and easier to read. This helps drivers make informed decisions, improving safety for all road and bridge users. Because the retroreflective properties of signs deteriorate over time, the signs undergo examination every two years as part of the Commission's bridge inspections process. Any signs that fail to pass muster are later replaced by Commission maintenance forces.

This flyover video shows the traffic shifts and width restrictions that were implemented at the New-Hope Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge earlier this month.

The following restrictions are in effect along both directions of Route 202 in the vicinity of the bridge:

🔸 Pennsylvania-bound (southbound) — 10-foot vehicle width limit.
🔸 New Jersey-bound (northbound) — 11-foot vehicle width limit.

These width restrictions are expected to remain in place through 2026 and into the first quarter of 2027.
