The Give Me Five program from South Dakota Housing is designed to help qualified first-time homebuyers overcome one of the biggest barriers to homeownership: the down payment.

Eligible buyers may receive down payment assistance equal to 5% of their first mortgage amount, provided as a second mortgage with no monthly payments. The assistance may be forgiven after five years if program requirements are met.
