Popping those housing 🫧🫧 myths

FHFA (Federal Housing Finance Agency) released their House Price Index, this measure home price appreciation on single-family homes within conforming loan amounts (no cash offers or jumbo loans).

In the Midwest appreciation remains strong, up .5% on average and up year over year. From the home values peak in summer 2022, FHFA states they are only down 1.2%

Reason being “U.S. house prices were largely unchanged in the last four months and remained near the peak levels reached in the summer of 2022, while higher mortgage rates have suppressed demand, low inventories of homes for sale have helped maintain relatively flat house prices”
