👜🥐 Purses, Pastries & a Purpose! 💜

I was so happy to once again attend Violence Free Futures Purses & Pastries event this past Saturday and to be one of the many sponsors supporting such an important cause in our community!
My mom and my good friend Jennifer were able to attend with me, which made the day even more special. ❤️ And, of course, Heather and I had to get our annual Purses & Pastries picture together! I’m so thankful for her friendship and for the work she does with this incredible organization. 💜

For 47 years, Violence Free Futures has been providing hope, safety and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence right here in Greene County. So far in 2026, they have provided safe shelter for 224 individuals — 123 of them children. 💜 That number really puts into perspective just how important these services are and how many lives are being impacted right here in our own community.

Purses & Pastries is always such a fun event, but behind the purses and pastries is a mission that truly changes lives. I’m proud to be one of the many community members and businesses supporting Violence Free Futures and the important work Heather and the entire team do every day.

❤️ Volunteers truly make the world a better place!
Monday evening, we had the opportunity to celebrate the incredible volunteers who have given so many hours over the past year to support Greene County Parks & Trails and, more importantly, our community. 🌳💚
I have been so very privileged to serve as an appointed Greene County Parks & Trails Commissioner since 2019, and one thing I’ve learned over those years is just how important our volunteers are. We simply could not do what we do without their time, talents, and willingness to give back.
To each of our volunteers — THANK YOU! Your dedication makes a difference, and our parks and community are better because of you. ❤️

We will never forget.
September 11 will forever be a day that reminds us how quickly life can change—and how precious every moment truly is.
Today, I pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families who still carry that loss, and the first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage on one of our nation’s darkest days.
I also remember what happened in the days that followed.
We prayed together. We checked on our neighbors. We hugged our families a little tighter. Churches filled. Flags flew from porches and businesses. And despite our differences, we remembered that we were one nation, under God. ❤️🤍💙
Twenty-five years later, I pray we never forget that part of September 11 either.
May we honor those we lost by loving one another a little better, serving others a little more, extending grace more freely, and never taking for granted the freedoms and people God has blessed us with.
Today, I’m especially grateful for those who ran toward danger when everyone else was running away—and for all who have served and sacrificed in the years since.
May God continue to comfort the families who carry the wounds of September 11, protect those who serve, and bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸🙏

August saw inflation hold above the Federal Reserve’s target, bond yields stay elevated, and oil swing sharply on geopolitical tensions.

The economy wasn’t faltering, just running at two speeds, as demonstrated by strong performance from the services sector, which was offset by a marked pullback in the manufacturing sector. That divide, layered on top of a low-hire, low-fire labor environment and persistent inflation, complicates the outlook for both growth and Fed policy. Swipe to see more.
