A Proud History

Riverfront Federal Credit Union was founded in 1948 as the RDG Reading Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the Reading Railroad. Through the years, other organizations and companies were permitted to join RDG, leading to substantial growth. To reflect the resulting diversity of our field of membership, we chan

ged our name to Riverfront Federal Credit Union in 1987. Additional growth came in 2000 when Riverfront added the City of Reading as an underserved area to our field of membership; and again, in 2008 when we were granted a charter amendment to allow anyone who currently lives, works, worships or attends school in Berks County, Pennsylvania or is a legal entity doing business in Berks County to join. We are as proud of our beginning as where we are today. Our Mission

Big ideas. Great people. An exciting future.

Last month, Riverfront members, board volunteers, and executive leadership came together for our 2026 Annual Meeting to celebrate how far we've come - and where we're headed next.

From innovative digital banking tools and technology that rival institutions much larger than us to the personal service our members know and trust, Riverfront continues to push forward while staying true to who we are.

We also had the privilege of recognizing John Kline for his years of service and dedication to Riverfront. As a thank you for his impact, John was presented with a custom Riverfront rocking chair.

Berks Cars & Coffee's season opener is officially back on the calendar!

After being postponed due to weather, our season opener has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 8 AM–Noon.

Join us for a morning of incredible vehicles, free admission, music, vendors, food, giveaways, raffles, trophy competitions, and great company.

“When we interviewed Cathleen back in 2005, she told us, ‘If you want someone who will treat the members right and will give you my best every day… I’m your girl.’”

For the past 21.5 years, she did exactly that - and more. 💙

Cathleen has been a valued part of the Riverfront family for more than two decades, serving our members with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. Many also know her as the ambassador of our annual Awareness Makes Cents campaign, where she courageously shared her story as a breast cancer survivor to help inspire and support others in our community.

Today, we celebrate Cathleen as she officially begins her retirement from Riverfront Federal Credit Union.

Please join us in thanking Cathleen for her years of dedication and wishing her a happy, healthy, and well-earned retirement! 🎉

🐷 Riverfront’s 3rd Annual Piggy Derby Fundraiser is back - and it’s one of our favorite community events of the year.
Hundreds of piggy banks. One creek. One champion. 🏁

Adopt a piggy for $10 and watch it race down Wyomissing Creek for a great cause.

Come for the full experience:

🎟️ Raffle prizes
🐷 The Piggy Derby race (12–3 PM)
📍 Free & open to the public

This year supports Dementia Friendly Berks County and Berks Community Cats , two local nonprofits making a real impact right here in our community.

We just can’t help but support great causes!

Our team was honored to attend the inaugural Garden Party hosted by Berks Encore. Surrounded by community leaders, partners, and supporters, the event celebrated the important work being done to serve older adults throughout Berks County.

This Sunday’s Berks Cars & Coffee event is canceled due to the forecasted weather.

We know many of you were looking forward to kicking off the season with us, and we’re genuinely disappointed to share this news. Unfortunately, the conditions just won’t allow us to safely and properly host the event.

We appreciate the continued support this community shows year after year - it’s what makes this event special.
We’re currently exploring a rain date and will share updates once confirmed.

We weren't expecting a stack of fan mail. ❤️

Recently, local students connected to Raisin Kindness sent over a collection of thank - you letters, and let's just say they earned a permanent spot around the office.

Every note, drawing, and handwritten message was a reminder that kindness has a way of traveling farther than we realize.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and Raisin Kindness for making our team smile. 🥹
