Fraud Alert ‼️

Unfortunately fraudsters are always on the lookout for ways to defraud people of their hard earned money, and they are good at it.

We've recently received reports of people receiving suspicious calls and text messages that look like they are from Discovery FCU.
Please remember, Discovery FCU will never contact you directly to request any of your account information, including:
• Social Security Number
• Credit or Debit Card Numbers
• Security Code or CVV
• PIN – Personal Identification Number
• Address
• Date of Birth
• Online Banking Login Information
• Verification Codes
• Passwords

Here's something you should know: scammers sometimes read obituaries or even attend funerals to target grieving families. They pose as creditors and claim the deceased had unpaid debts. Then they pressure relatives to pay immediately—using guilt, urgency, and confusion to get what they want.

But here's the truth: the debt is often fake.

If you or a loved one ever receives a call like this:

Pause. Don't let pressure push you into a decision.

Verify. Ask for written proof and check with the actual creditors you know about.

Don't pay. Never give money or personal information over the phone to an unexpected caller.

Grief is hard enough. Don't let scammers make it harder.
