The Fed has cut the funds rate three times in the past three meetings, but chose to keep it steady this meeting due to inflation concerns and wanting to keep a close eye on the economy in the upcoming months.

While mortgage rates are not directly impacted by the federal funds rate, pausing these rate cuts can reduce volatility and help maintain longer‑term market trends, which in turn helps mortgage rates.
