I am proud to announce that I am working with The Guidance Center and the Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center as a volunteer member of the program's Steering Committee to expand services, strengthen facilities, and serve more children and families in Detroit and Wayne County.
Kids-TALK, a program that helps children who have suffered sexual or physical abuse, severe neglect or trauma, serves more that 2,100 children in Wayne County every year. The program celebrates its25th Anniversary this year!
It is one of 25 programs at The Guidance Center. Kids-TALK CAC has two locations in Midtown Detroit and Southgate, with plans to open a third location in Canton. Kids-TALK is the only accredited CAC in Wayne County, so all children who need this critical life-saving service are seen at this important facility.
The program has outgrown its current space and will be expanding in the City of Detroit so that the agency has the ability to serve more children and in a more timely manner.
