Great advice from the Illinois State Police to prepare you for the winter roads!

High winds, blowing snow and freezing back up again. Time for the arctic ride we have been waiting for.

Pack your emergency kits, gas no lower than half full, cell and charger, appropriate clothing and outerwear. Throw some extra blankets in the car too.

If you get stranded DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM YOUR VEHICLE!!!!! You will be leaving your best shelter and easiest thing for emergency personnel to find. These temps are going to drop so low they will cause injury within less than five minutes. Call 911, and keep track of your location to help us get to you sooner.
