Tips for cold weather -
If you haven't already, locate you water shutoff-valve. It may be at the meter, or some have one close to the house. If you've been without power and/or water for several days, be prepared for broken pipes. If possible, turn the water off before pipes thaw, so you can turn water back on and identify problem areas and shut off quickly to minimize damage. Be prepared for long waits for plumbing repairs, unless you are able to repair the plumbing yourself, then do so.
As with other claims, document your damage, do what is needed to secure your property and protect it from further damage, and call as soon as possible to begin the claims process if the damage exceeds you deductible amount.
