As we celebrate our 100th anniversary this year, we’re reflecting on our history and values. In the latter half of the 20th century, Edward Jones Sr.’s son Ted Jones discovered an untapped market: rural towns. People in these towns needed to secure their financial futures but were often overlooked by city-based firms, so Ted embarked on a journey across Missouri, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma to serve local communities.
Ted’s approach varied greatly from the one his father envisioned, but it emphasized the idea of financial inclusivity and set the stage for Edward Jones to grow into the firm it’s become today.
