One of my favorite ways to build equity in a home? Buy one with an unfinished basement! 🏡🔨

When house hunting, I always like the idea of finding a home with an unfinished basement that you can finish over time.

Not only can it be a great way to add usable living space, but it also gives you the opportunity to build equity by making improvements yourself rather than paying for a home where everything is already finished.

Of course, not every renovation guarantees a dollar-for-dollar return, but finding a home with some untapped potential can be a smart move!

Sometimes the best house isn't the one that's completely finished. It's the one you can make your own while building value along the way.
