Today is International Credit Union Day. Ithas been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948. Indiana has been part of international credit union development activities in cooperation with the World Council of Credit Unions for many years. The League and Indiana’s credit unions have met with credit union representatives from around the globe, both hosting them in Indiana and traveling to other countries for learning exchanges and to offer assistance. Hoosiers are also leading internationally as Dallas Bergl (CEO of INOVA FCU) serves on the World Council of Credit Unions board, and Kevin Ryan (retired CEO of Financial Center First CU) serves on the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions board. According to the World Council, there are 61,838 credit unions in 93 countries with 420 million members.

This year, the World Council is celebrating International Credit Union Day under the theme “Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World.”

Our systems have been restored as of 7:45 pm October 13th. We are working with our provider to ensure posting of all direct deposits and debits. This may affect the balance you see when logging into online banking. It is important that you understand this was not a security event and your accounts have not been compromised. Transactions that were initiated at our offices during the outage will be processed on Wednesday, October 14th. In order to complete these, our offices will open at 10am on Wednesday. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

To our trusting members, we are aware today was difficult for you. Due to issues with our core processor, we continue to see outages. We have been assured that they are working diligently to restore us, however, hundreds of credit unions were affected. This was due to network configuration. This was not a security event and your deposits are safe.
We have just been informed that our system will most likely not be restored prior to 5pm. We have many transactions and call backs to make tomorrow and those will be addressed in the order they were received.
So that we can give the time necessary to complete these, we will be opening at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14th.

Our core system is down currently. Our provider, CMC-Flex is working to get it restored as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience and are keeping in close contact with them.
