Court Tip Friday!

Every Friday we share an important tip to help you navigate the court process with confidence.

This week’s tip:
Did you know there’s a difference between Municipal Court and County Court?
Municipal courts typically handle city-related cases, while county courts have a much broader jurisdiction. Knowing where your case is handled can make a big difference in understanding the process.

Have questions about court or bonding? We’re here to help—anytime.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) Monday!

Every Monday we will share answers to common questions we’ve received over the years to help you better understand how the bonding process works.

This week’s FAQ:
Q: What happens if I miss a payment?
A: Missed payments happen—we get it. At Butler Affordable Bail Bonds, we understand that life doesn’t always go as planned.
That said, if a payment is missed, it’s important to take care of it as soon as possible. If a payment isn’t made within a reasonable time, a bond cancellation may occur. This means the bond could be revoked and the individual may be taken back into custody.

The last thing we want is for someone to return to jail over a financial issue. Please give us a call if you’re having trouble—we’re here to work with you and help find a solution.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Once an individual has had their bond cancelled, they cannot be bonded by Butler Affordable Bail Bonds again until they have been bonded out on the charges that we no longer carry in bond.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) Monday!
Every Monday we will share answers to common questions we’ve received over the years to help you better understand how the bonding process works.

This week’s FAQ:
Q: “What happens after I go to court?”
A: There are a few answers to this question. The first is that you have another court date in the near future, if this is the case ensure that you are there for this date and follow any instructions that you are given. Another is that you may be released from your conditions of the bond so long as you have satisfied all payment plan obligations. Always make sure that you understand all instructions before leaving the court house.

Court Tip Friday!
Every Friday we share an important tip to help you navigate the court process with confidence.

This week’s tip:
What happens if you are late to court on your court date? If you are late, but show up a couple of minutes after your appearance time you are not always considered absent. Say you wake up late and realize you are going to miss your court time, here is what you should do: Call the clerk of court and ask if court is still in session. If they are still in session, immediately make your way to the court house. Once you arrive, if you are lucky, polite, and offer a reason for being late or missing court the judge may see you and wave the bench warrant.
As always, if you have any questions please contact us and we will be happy to help.
