Yesterday was a first for me:
For those of you who didn’t know, I have spent the last 10 months transitioning my career from the insurance side of things to serving families in time of need on the cemetery side of things.
Weekly, if not daily, I am meeting with families to discuss final arrangements either for themselves on a pre-planning basis, or for their loved ones on an at-need basis.
Over the course of this past year, I have been involved with making final arrangements for a 23yr old car accident victim, a 99yr old who was just days away from celebrating her 100th birthday and several that were in their 50’s and 60’s where cancer or liver disease took them from their families to soon.
But this one was different; this one was a 49yr old, father of two, that the family received a call from the coroner to inform them that their son was a victim of homicide. 😢
Having recently turned 42 myself, this one hit just a little bit different.
Life is a journey; we do not know where it is going to take us, what roads we will travel, who will be our copilots along the way, or how long our journey will last. Take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself, take a moment to breathe and appreciate the adventure you are on and be sure to make a positive and lasting impression on the ones who have joined you along the way. ❤️
-Stay blessed and stay well!
