Twenty years ago this June, we lost someone who shaped everything about the way I see people, purpose, and what it means to leave something behind.

She left something harder to quantify than money: a way of showing up for people, a way of listening for the sole purpose of caring for the other person, and a table that always had room for one more. She loved deeper than anyone I've ever met...and I hope that me, my siblings, and our kids can carry on that legacy to all the people we get to connect with.
