Talking about money can be difficult and uncomfortable. Below is a 5 step process to help achieve your financial goals and some questions to think about during each step.

1. Where are you today?

How much are you saving?
How much have you saved thus far?
Where are you saving? (401(k), IRA, Roth)
What short-term and long-term debts do you currently have?

2. Where would you like to be?

What does achieving your goal look like?
Why is this goal important to you and how would this change your life?

3. Can you get there?

Based on your current situation can you reach your goal?
Don't be afraid to dream big. More might be possible than you may think.

4. How do you get there?

If you're not quite on track, what specific steps need to be taken now to reach your goal?
Do you need to spend less and save more?
Do you need to adjust where you are saving money?

5. Staying on track.

Once you have determined a plan to meet your goal, it needs to be revisited regularly to help make sure you are on track.
By regularly reviewing your progress toward your goals, you can make small adjustments as needed rather than potentially larger changes later.
