⚠️ Avoid Travel During Blizzard-Like Conditions ⚠️

The Massachusetts State Police want to remind you of the dangers of driving in blizzard-like conditions, and urge you to stay home if possible.

Blizzard-like conditions create near-zero visibility, heavy drifting snow, and icy roadways. Travel is extremely dangerous and can become life-threatening within minutes.

🚫 We strongly urge residents to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary.

🌨️ Whiteout conditions can make it impossible to see other vehicles or hazards.

🧊 Snow and ice drastically reduce traction and stopping ability.

🚗 Disabled or stuck vehicles may not be immediately reachable by emergency crews.

🌡️ Extreme cold and high winds increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia.

Every vehicle on the road increases the risk — not only for drivers, but also for plow operators and first responders working to keep our community safe!
