We've been made aware of another scam that involves spoofing the phone number to make it look like your financial institution is calling. This scam also includes impersonating an FBI agent.
Please take a moment to read the scenario below.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: Scammers Are Impersonating the FBI

The FBI Boston Division is warning New England residents about a new scam in which criminals are spoofing the FBI’s real phone number to make their calls appear legitimate.

Here’s how the scam works:

📞 You receive a call from someone claiming to represent a financial institution. They tell you that your personal information was used to open an account that was then used to purchase illegal fi****ms.

🚔 You’re transferred to someone claiming to be an FBI agent, who may provide a fake name and badge number.

📱 You may then receive another call that appears to come from FBI Boston’s actual phone number and be instructed to continue communicating through an encrypted messaging app.

🔒 The scammer may also tell you that the situation is confidential and that you should not discuss it with anyone.

Don't fall for it. The FBI will never call or email you to demand payment, threaten arrest, request sensitive personal information, or ask you to communicate through an encrypted app

⚠️⚠️Don't Fall for Fake Microsoft Pop-Up Scams⚠️⚠️

A pop-up warning that your computer is infected, locked, blasting alarms, or urging you to call “Microsoft Support” is almost always a scam.
These alerts are designed to make you panic and act quickly.
Scammers use them to trick you into giving remote access to your computer, personal information, or financial details.

🔒🔒 Protect yourself 🔒🔒

• Do not call numbers shown in pop-up alerts.
• Do not click the alert or any links inside it.
• Do not allow remote access to your computer.
• Remember: Microsoft does not display pop-ups with phone numbers.
If you see one of these pop-ups, close your browser if possible or restart your computer. If you click the alert, call the number, share information, or allow remote access, contact your credit union immediately.

It has been brought to our attention that members are receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be from our Fraud Department. They are spoofing our phone number to make it look like a legitimate call. The caller has a foreign accent and is asking the members to give their full card number for verification purposes.
If you have received a call and gave your card information, please call us immediately!
