The impact of mental health and addiction issues is universally felt, regardless of wealth, family background, or education. Finding supportive resources with empathy can be a formidable task. Fortunately, the Family Support Center serves as a critical lifeline, providing unconditional support and compassion to everyone. Our community is exceptionally fortunate to have access to this vital resource. Deep gratitude is expressed to the committed individuals who ensure the center's continued presence in our community, where NO ONE is turned away.
We are honored to be part of the Hand Bags for Hope event and look forward to future collaborations.

What is Handbags for Hope?

About 3 years ago, Deanna Eastman came to a Family Support Center board meeting with the idea of Handbags for Hope! The board was all in and a committee was quickly formed to make this a reality. On May 6, 2023 we hosted the Inaugural event and it was extremely successful! Handbags for Hope is an event to promote ending the stigma surrounding mental health illness and substance use disorders. It is an event to bring together people in the community in a safe space where we can be gain knowledge/resources and be as one. It is also an event that you could leave with an amazing designer bag! The funds raised from the Handbags For Hope event support the people of Humboldt County who seek help at The Family Support Center 💚.

We will have so much more information that we cannot wait to share with you on Saturday night!
