Dear Mr. Wisemiller:
Please accept this letter of support for the proposed C3 of Northwest Alabama, Inc. (C3) USDA RBDG Business Opportunity Grant Project. I am Associate Agent with the Grogan Agency. My small insurance business is based in Winfield, Alabama. I am also on the Winfield City Council. The City of Winfield is a contributing member of C3 of Northwest Alabama, Inc. Given these roles, I am excited about the potential of this effort to support the growth of small businesses in Winfield. I heartily support C3’s application for a USDA RBDG to propel that effort forward.
For decades, I have been a proponent of Winfield making strategic investments to attract more residents and small businesses. I believe that Winfield can became a “destination place” for talented professionals, entrepreneurially minded empty nesters and retirees, tourists seeking small town charm, and other entrepreneurial activities. We have a lot of the ingredients in place to promote that vision, including Freedom Fiber, which is bringing 1 gig connections to residents and 10 gig connections to businesses in Winfield and other nearby communities in Marion County. C3’s proposed entrepreneurship program is another key step in supporting that vision for Winfield and Northwest Alabama.
I also believe that the small business programs and resources proposed by this entrepreneurship program would help small businesses like mine grow. I look forward to participating in the feasibility study process – both as a small business owner and a City Council member – and learning more about the Start Up Space platform. I would like to begin “networking” with other small businesses in Winfield and the region to promote business opportunities.
