Huge News from your Windsor Heights Fire Department!

We’re proud to announce that Prairie Meadows has awarded Windsor Heights Fire a generous $64,524.25 grant to purchase all-new low-pressure fire hose and nozzles, new supply lines, and a hose testing machine.

This generous grant will allow us to replace aging high-pressure equipment and give our department the ability to conduct annual hose testing in-house, helping ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready when our Windsor Heights community needs us most.

The new low-pressure fire hose will provide our firefighters with more precise water control during interior fire attacks while reducing physical strain and improving safety in high-heat environments.

We are incredibly grateful to Prairie Meadows for investing in Windsor Heights Fire and supporting our mission to protect the community we serve.

I am a daughter of a fallen solider, this is my father Marine, Gary Jones, fought in Vietnam. He died from injuries of the war. Folds of honor is dear to my heart ❤️ my father in law served for 30 years , we do this in honor of them❤️❤️❤️❤️ -Kristy

Everyone is talking about Iowa getting a new giant gas station.

We have nothing against that. In fact, we've heard great things about the Beaver Nuggets, but... it might be nice to see even a fraction of that media hype and public demand for building housing and addressing our affordability crisis.

A second sweet post for the day ❤️

Yesterday, our firefighters discovered this little girl alone on the side of the road, dodging traffic in the heat. They couldn't leave her behind, so they pulled over to help. She ended up running under the fire truck. The crew waited until Animal Control arrived to pick her up and bring her to safety.

While we spend our days responding to emergencies and assisting people, sometimes helping means showing a little kindness, no matter how many legs you have.
