As expected, the Fed raised rates 0.25% today. 😬

The Fed does NOT set mortgage rates.

Mortgage rates care a whole lot more about the bond market and the 10-year Treasury.

Today Wall Street basically heard, “Inflation is still being annoying, so rates may stay higher longer.”

Bonds sold off.
Treasury yields jumped.
Mortgage rates felt the pressure.

Not exactly the party we wanted or ordered.

The better news: markets move FAST. One inflation report, jobs report, or economic surprise can change the whole conversation.

Don’t panic. Watch the data. Shop the rate. Shop the deal. Buy the house when the numbers work.
