Two years ago, AI benefits administration was an enterprise-only tool. In 2026, a 50-person company can run open enrollment with the same decision-support technology a 5,000-person company uses.

Here is what that actually means in practice.

Employees get guided plan recommendations based on their life stage and utilization history, not just a PDF.

HR answers fewer repetitive questions because a chatbot handles them around the clock.Compliance anomalies get flagged automatically before they become audit findings. And your HR manager, who is also probably doing five other jobs, gets time back. The Hartford's 2026 Future of Benefits Study found 95% of employers want digital tools for routine tasks and a human for the complex ones.

That combination is finally affordable and accessible for smaller employers. If you're evaluating benefits administration platforms alongside your next renewal, the technology conversation and the benefits strategy conversation should happen at the same time.

Is your current benefits tech doing the heavy lifting it should be?

Commercial auto premiums have risen for 28 consecutive months. Claims severity is up 64% since 2015. And yet most fleet operators still do not have telematics.

Here is what changed: carriers are now using telematics data as an active underwriting input at renewal. Fleets that share driving behavior data qualify for discounts of 10 to 15 percent. Fleets that do not share data are increasingly assessed more conservatively. An AI dashcam costs about $500 per vehicle.

In a single contested claim, the footage can be worth far more than that. The math is not complicated. What is holding most businesses back is the conversation never happened.

Has your broker talked to you about telematics in the last 12 months? If not, that is the conversation to have before your next renewal: https://zurl.co/I4OOS

June is National Safety Month — and at Tooher-Ferraris, safety isn't just something we talk about. It's a core value.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of National Safety Month, led by the National Safety Council. The 2026 message is one we stand behind completely: Stronger Together. Safer Together.

This month, the NSC is spotlighting four critical themes:
🔹 Week 1: Moving Safety Forward — building a culture of prevention
🔹 Week 2: Staying Safe on the Roads — protecting drivers, fleets & pedestrians
🔹 Week 3: Promoting Holistic Worker Health — mental, physical & emotional wellbeing
🔹 Week 4: Preventing Slips, Trips & Falls — reducing the most common workplace injuries

Every business has a responsibility to get people home safe. The right safety culture and the right insurance protection go hand in hand.

Your cloud platform goes down. A vendor's system fails. Operations halt for three days. No fire. No flood. No physical damage.

So your business interruption policy does not respond. This is the coverage gap most businesses do not discover until after the loss. Standard BI policies require physical damage to trigger. Vendor outages, SaaS failures, and AI system crashes do not qualify. Contingent business interruption coverage and technology E&O exist for exactly this reason. Most small and mid-sized businesses have neither.

One question worth asking your broker today: what actually triggers my business interruption coverage — and what does not?

We help businesses answer that question before a loss makes it urgent: https://zurl.co/ilvh7

Construction Dive's 2026 outlook is worth reading carefully.

The headline is optimistic: data center demand is strong, infrastructure spending is steady, activity is humming.

The fine print is more complicated.

Material costs are inflating 2% to 4% this year — manageable on its own. But steel and aluminum remain elevated from tariff impacts, and electrical equipment prices tied to AI buildouts are still swinging.

Labor costs are exerting far greater budget pressure than materials.

Contractors outside the data center and public infrastructure sectors are finding it harder to stay competitive as megaproject dollars concentrate in a narrow band of winners.

And escalation language in contracts — once an edge-case conversation — is now standard advice from GCs to their clients.

What does this mean from a risk and insurance standpoint?

Tighter margins mean less buffer for unplanned losses. Material volatility means builders' risk values need to be revisited. Labor pressure means workforce retention and safety culture matter more than ever for EMR management.

The market conditions Dive is describing aren't just a business strategy question. They're an insurance program question.
