Keep your home safe as temperatures plumet! Here are some tips:

🥶Key Temperatures:

- 32 degrees F Water Freezes
- 20 degrees F Pipes can start freezing, especially on exterior walls, in basements, crawlspaces or garages
- 55 degrees F or below indoors increases the risk for frozen pipes and damage

Reminder, the thermostat temperature is only the temperature at your thermostat. The actual temperature in cabinets, voids and other areas of the home may be significantly less.

🏠Extra Protection:

- Let faucets drip slowly during extreme cold
- Open cabinet doors under sinks, especially on exterior walls
- Seal drafts and insulate exposed pipes
- Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior spigots and drain any water in the line

Road to Success Scholarships are now available! Submit your application by March 15 :)

Eligibility
A high school senior eligible for the $1,000 Road to Success scholarship:
• Is currently insured through a personal auto policy with Grinnell Mutual, Grinnell Select, or Grinnell Compass, or is a dependent driver listed on the auto policy of a parent/guardian*
• Maintains a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0
• Has a clean driving record (no accidents or violations)
• Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the fall of 2026 as a full-time student
• Is not a dependent of any Grinnell Mutual employee or company board member
*If the auto policy is canceled for any reason before the scholarship is awarded, the scholarship is void.

Our office is all ready for Founder's Day! We want to give a big shout out to The Southern Pearl for our amazing window and the Wilton Athletic Boosters for the W logo!

We will be closing at 3 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 15 so staff can enjoy the festivities.

Today we wish former White Pigeon Mutual President Mark Knouse a very happy retirement! Mark has been with White Pigeon Mutual, now American Mutual, for 42 years. Yesterday we were able to get together with current, as well as many former employees, friends, family and collogues in celebration of his many years with us. His leadership, knowledge and dedication has been so valuable over the years.

We wish him the best as he kicks off his next venture... retirement!
