Louisiana tenants officially have new protections! Just in time for peak hurricane season, tenant advocates and LaFHAC staff joined Governor John Bel Edwards and Rep. Mandie Landry to celebrate new protections going into effect for families who face illegal evictions, especially after storms.

Coaching within organisations is on the increase, which is fantastic; however, it is still often seen as a remedial tool rather than a critical contributor to an organisation's growth.

This week's looks at the GROW Model, a flexible coaching tool that can be adjusted for use in a variety of situations such as to tackle an issue, meet a specific goal, optimise a process, or improving the personal development of employees/clients. It strives to establish a systematic strategy as efficiently & accessibly as possible.

There are four key steps: G-oals, R-eality, O-ptions & W-ill. Rather than tackling a goal in one chaotic swoop, it looks at each stage of the journey. Using the answers from previous stages to inform the next:
⭕Goal: What is the desired outcome? What will that enable them to do? How will it be measured or recognised as successful?
⭕Reality: How important is this? Who else does it affect? Does it conflict with anything? What steps have already been taken?
⭕Opportunity: What options are there to consider, & the pros & cons of each one? What are the roadblocks & what will its removal change?
⭕Will: What actions in this plan are doable now? When will we aim to get it done by? How often should we review progress? What support is needed?
