Events include a Mardi Gras parade and festival in Oak Island, a jazz orchestra performance at UNCW, and a swing dance in downtown Wilmington. Many events are free to attend, while some, like the UNCW jazz orchestra performance and the Brunswick County Literacy Council fundraiser, require tickets or donations.

These events will celebrate Fat Tuesday around the Cape Fear area.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting James “Bonecrusher” Smith at the office today!
James grew up, not far from here in Magnolia,NC.  He was the WBA Heavyweight Champion in 1986 and the first guy to take Mike Tyson a full 12 rounds in 1987!!!
Today Bonecrusher works with his nonprofit, Champions for Kids, Inc and he’s working to establish a boxing Hall of Fame in Myrtle Beach, SC!

The most expensive home ever sold in North Carolina is this 6,700-square-foot house on Figure Eight Island. The home sold for $13,900,000 in July 2024 and includes five bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

The list is led by a home that broke a state record.

Today was a remarkable day filled with purpose as we worked alongside Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity to construct a brand new home for a deserving family. It was a joy to be part of such an inspiring cause and I am eagerly anticipating the next build day!
