After 43 years, T. S. Brown Jewelry is closing its doors - and what a legacy they leave behind 💍✨

Since 1983, our longtime friends and clients at T.S. Brown Jewelry have been more than a business, they've been a downtown cornerstone. From engagement rings that started families, to anniversary gifts that celebrated decades of love, to the simple kindness they showed every person who walked through their doors, T.S. Brown has been woven into the fabric of our community.

We've had the privilege of protecting their business and working alongside them, both in The Cotton Exchange, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they've built. Retirement is well-earned, and we hope it's filled with rest & joy.

Happy June 1st! Junes brings about many things: the start of summer, the end of the school year, and much more. For us, it also brings about the start of hurricane season 🌪️

While preparing for a possible hurricane is second nature to some, it's something that many in Wilmington are getting used to for the first time. Recent events have also shown us that unfortunately hurricanes and flood events can happen anywhere.

Here is a quick prep checklist to help:
📄 Review your homeowners policy
🌊 Confirm your flood insurance is in place (most policies have a 30-day waiting period)
📦 Inventory your personal property
🏠 Check for wear and tear on your home

As we head into the start of summer, we're reflecting on what a busy and rewarding Spring 2026 it has been for James E. Moore Insurance Agency!

Over the past few months, our team has had the opportunity to attend conferences, continue professional development and support organizations making a meaningful impact throughout our community. From participating in the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina - IIANC WIN Professional Development Day, to celebrating local leaders at the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame, we've been proud to learn, grow and connect with others across our industry and community.

We've also been honored to support causes close to us, including the Good Shepherd Center, Carousel Center, and paws4people foundation, whose work continues to positively impact so many lives.

We're grateful for every opportunity to serve, learn, and give back - and we're excited for all that Summer 2026 has in store!

Look close and you might see a familiar face! Our CEO, Adrienne Moore, serves on both the NC Aquarium Society board, and the Statewide Capital Campaign Committee. We are grateful for her involvement! While we are sad to see it close, there are many exciting things to come over the next few years at North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher!
