UNCW Office of Military Affairs The UNCW Office of Military Affairs provides leadership and support to military-affiliated students.

The Office of Military Affairs is an advocacy office that was established in March 2016 to develop and coordinate resources to help military-affiliated students--service members, veterans, and their family members--achieve their academic and career goals. Military Affairs staff members help students and their families learn how to navigate the university.

Today we celebrate 251 years of courage, commitment, and selfless service since the establishment of the United States Army on June 14, 1775.

For generations, Soldiers have stood ready to defend our nation, protect our freedoms, and answer the call wherever duty leads. We honor the legacy of those who served before us and recognize the men and women who continue to wear the uniform today.

Thank you to all Soldiers, veterans, Army families, and civilian supporters who have contributed to the Army’s enduring mission.

Women veterans have answered the call to serve in every generation, breaking barriers, leading with distinction, and making lasting contributions to our military and communities. Their service and sacrifices have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

On this Women’s Veterans Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to all women veterans for their commitment, resilience, and unwavering devotion to our country.

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

On D-Day, thousands of brave men faced impossible odds in defense of freedom, forever changing the course of history. The heroism and the sacrifices of all who served will never be forgotten.

As we honor those who stormed the beaches for liberation, may we reflect on the values they fought to protect and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything for future generations.
