National Night Out is a great opportunity to meet your local heroes who ensure public safety across your neighborhoods.
We will be stopping by this afternoon at the Willimantic National Night Out
Come out on August 4th for an amazing FREE Event!
The Willimantic Police Department is proud to partner with the Willimantic Fire Department, the Windham Volunteer Fire Department, and many of our other public safety and community partners for this year’s National Night Out.
National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that began in 1984 with one simple goal: to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement, first responders, and the communities they serve. Today, millions of people across the country participate each year, making it one of the nation’s largest community engagement events.
Join us on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shaboo Stage, 1 Jillson Square, Willimantic, for an afternoon and evening of fun, education, and community connection.
There will be something for everyone, especially our Main Event the K9 Demonstration!
It will also include police, fire, and emergency vehicles on display, specialty apparatus, interactive drone operations and demonstrations, a crime scene investigation exhibit, K9 demonstrations, educational safety displays, community partners, games and activities for children, a petting zoo, and free food.
This event is completely free and provides a great opportunity to meet the men and women who serve our community, learn more about public safety, and enjoy a fun evening with family and friends.
