A HUGE Congratulations to all the girls and coaches for their accomplishment!
Over the last three seasons, we have worked hard to transform our cheerleaders’ sideline presence—-encouraging them to be loud, energetic, and get the crowed on their feet no matter how silly they feel.
This season Coach Tricia, Sena and I decided to enter the State Game Day Competition hosted by WVSSAC and Varsity Spirit. Learning a new routine style alongside our traditional competition was going to be a challenge but the team stepped up during flex days, and the coaching staff drew on our college cheer experience to prepare them.
Competing in the small division, the team earned strong praise from the Varsity Spirit staff. We advanced to the final round by placing second. While a coaching over-site resulted in a deduction in the finals that placed us at 8th, our score without the error was a 4th place finish——an incredible achievement for a first year team in this category.
Thanks to their hard work and dedication, the team earned a a bid to the UCA High School Game Day Nationals, hosted by Varsity Spirit in Orlando, Florida.
We are proud to share that this is your first Williamstown High School Cheer team to qualify for Game Day Nationals!
Look out Disney, Dubtown is coming to compete!
