🚨 Specialized Off-Road Training Enhances Emergency Response 🚨

Today, members from several Kanawha County departments participated in UTV, ATV, and ORV operations and safety training. This multi-agency program included both classroom instruction and hands-on exercises to ensure safe and effective operation of these vehicles. Participating agencies included Belle, Malden, Cedar Grove, Glasgow, Pinch, Montgomery, Armstrong Creek, and Kanawha County Emergency Management.

ATVs and UTVs allow responders to reach areas that fire apparatus and ambulances cannot access. These off-road vehicles are essential for wilderness rescues, remote medical calls, brush fires, and search operations throughout Kanawha County. Training like this ensures responders can operate safely, effectively, and responsibly when called upon.

We thank Bill Bailey Insurance and VFIS of West Virginia for sponsoring this training, and Appalachian Outlaw Trails (AOT) for allowing us to use their facilities for the hands-on portion.

Our members remain committed to ongoing training and readiness in service to the citizens of Kanawha County.
