FSA is strengthening the farm safety net thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act that adds up to 30 million new base acres nationwide. Starting June 1, landowners can update and increase base acres in preparation for enrollment in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2026 and future crop years.

Landowners have until Aug. 31, 2026, to review and consider base acre increases on farms enrolled in ARC or PLC. https://www.fsa.usda.gov/news-events/news/05-26-2026/usda-announces-base-acre-increase-opportunity-agriculture-risk-price

We know how unpredictable livestock markets can be. When prices move fast, margins can disappear just as quickly.

That’s why we offer Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) — a USDA backed risk management tool that helps protect against downside price risk while still allowing you to take advantage of higher markets. In times of volatility, LRP can be a valuable tool for managing risk in your operation.

If you’d like to learn how LRP works or see if it’s a good fit for your operation, give us a call. We’re always happy to visit and talk through options!k
