Last week I spoke to a room full of entrepreneurs about something most people never think about.
We insure our cars. Our phones. Our homes. But not our income, the thing that pays for all of it.
Most assume accidents are the leading cause of disability. They’re not. The real leaders are musculoskeletal conditions, cancer, and mental health disorders like anxiety and depression.
Two points I made:
1. Protect your most valuable asset. What is that, you ask? Your ability to earn.
Let’s do simple math. Say you’re 30 years old making $100K a year. Without a single raise or adjusting for inflation, you’re a $3 million person walking around. That’s the number we’re protecting.
2. Know your workplace benefits. I shouldn’t know them better than you do.
People assume they’re covered because they have savings, a large investment account, or a spouse who earns well. But if you can’t work for 30 years, that’s millions left on the table.
Give me a call and we can go over your benefits together.
