After 10 years on the buyside, Ari Shrage founded Aliya Capital Group, an independent research firm focused on the technology sector. Aliya Capital works with large investment firms providing bottoms up deep fundamental research focused on the technology sector while helping his clients with unique management access.
Aliya Capital Group focuses on finding "high conviction ideas" in the technology sector with a buyside, fully opportunistic approach. Ari hosts calls with public and private companies for his clients as part of the fundamental research process.
Aliya Capital's focus areas within technology include internet, telecom equipment, networking, handsets, foreign internet/gaming, hosting services, semi's, and hardware. ACG's research universe include more than 400 companies with a wide range of marketcaps within the technology sector.
Prior to founding Aliya Capital Group, Ari started in investment management over 15 years ago at Putnam Investments. After Putnam, Ari joined S.A.C. Capital as a Sr Technology Analyst covering the sectors listed above and two years later, started managing a technology focused equity portfolio within S.A.C Capital.
After leaving S.A.C. more than 8 years ago, Ari started working at Mission Global Advisers running a technology focused equity portfolio before founding Aliya Capital in 2009.
Ari's approach to picking stocks is fully opportunistic with the goal of finding the best ideas with the highest risk reward profile while helping his clients with unique management access.
Specialties: Before starting Aliya, Ari spent 3 years running technology focused equity portfolios within two multi strategy hedge funds and also made long/short recommendations to the firm's CIOs based on proprietary bottoms-up research.
