Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Melissa Young Partnering with individuals to reach their personal financial goals. Retirement and Legacy Planning Raised in Pine Bluff, my home is still here today.

Building a financial strategy is more than buying low and selling high. My career at Edward Jones began just before the 2001 tragedy of 9/11 and the tech bubble burst of 2002. Those two events cemented my investment philosophy: start with your goals in mind, create a strategy, build balance to withstand disruptions along the way, and reassess regularly. Our first question is, "What's important to you?" Whether your goal is to save for retirement, plan for income, pay for education, prepare for the unexpected, or work through estate considerations, we offer solutions tailored to you. In our practice, we use established process as we partner with you to reach your personal goals. We serve clients both locally and states across the country. Donna Herrin and Sheri Allen, our branch office team, are dedicated to supporting you. Both come from banking and trust backgrounds and provide exceptional service to our clients. My degree, a Bachelor of Science in business / marketing, is from Louisiana Tech University. In 2004, I received the AAMS™ designation, awarded by the College for Financial Planning to individuals who successfully complete a 12-module education program, pass a final exam, commit to its code of ethics and agree to pursue continuing education. I am a graduate of both Leadership Pine Bluff and Leadership White Hall. In 2006, I became a Limited Partner of our firm. I serve the firm as a member of our region's key leadership team and as a trainer in the firm's Developing Leadership Presence program. My husband, TJ, and I have a daughter, Maggie. We all enjoy travel and always look forward to our next adventure. We love spending time with family and friends, SEC football, cooking, and sharing laughter and stories around a fire pit on a cool night. I would be delighted to help you make informed, financially sound decisions. Please contact me to discuss your situation and goals. Member SIPC.

The Fed raised interest rates for the first time in three years, as widely expected. While the announcement prompted an initial market reaction, resilient economic growth, strong corporate earnings and continued consumer spending could help support equities, even if interest rates move somewhat higher. Meanwhile, higher short-term bond yields may create new opportunities for investors seeking income.
