Hazlett Burt & Watson, Inc. extends its deepest condolences on the passing of George S. Weaver Jr., a respected leader, mentor, and dear friend to many within our organization.

In 1973, George acquired the firm alongside partners Stuart F. Bloch, John C. Watson, and several colleagues, marking the beginning of a transformative era. As President and CEO, he played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s growth, vision, and enduring success.

In 2000, he brought together a coalition of investors to establish Security National Trust, a federally chartered trust company. In 2003, he joined fellow executives of Hazlett Burt & Watson, Inc. in ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange, a proud milestone in our company’s history.

George’s influence on the firm will be felt for generations. Equally important was his deep commitment to the Wheeling community, where he served in numerous leadership roles and made a lasting impact. George will be deeply missed by many.
