Most commercial agencies have more than 80% of their book with zero cyber coverage.

The clients are not the problem. Munich Re's 2026 survey found that nine out of ten executives already know they are inadequately protected. What they do not have is a producer who shows up to the renewal conversation prepared to do something about it.

Coalition's 2026 Cyber Claims Report puts the average ransomware loss at $269,000. Cybersecurity Ventures puts annual cybercrime losses at $10.5 trillion. The entire global cyber insurance market, per the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), covers $15 billion of that.

The math is not complicated. The workflow just was never built.

This week, bots targeted a web intake form at a business in our network. They submitted fraudulent applications with falsified leases, IDs, and paystubs. Payments went out on 14 of them. $15,000 was gone before anyone realized what had happened.

The policy covered it because the right questions were asked at placement. Computer fraud and social engineering endorsement, appropriate sublimit, coverage that matched the actual exposure. That outcome was decided at the last renewal conversation, not after the loss.

Zero Day Clock, a research project tracking the collapse of traditional vulnerability windows, shows the median time from vulnerability disclosure to first exploit has gone from 771 days in 2018 to effectively zero today. These attacks are not slowing down. They are getting cheaper, faster, and more accessible to anyone who wants to run them.

You already know what happened to them.

Cloudflare documented 230 billion cyber threats in a single day in March 2026. The White House named small businesses as primary targets in its new national cyber strategy.

Most of the businesses in the average commercial agency book still have no meaningful coverage. The gap between what they face and what they carry is the Cyber Protection Gap. It is not a prospecting problem. The clients are already there.
