🍂 Friday Night Thoughts from PTR Insurance 🍂

This week reminded us exactly why we opened an independent insurance agency.

Families are tired of being told they only have one option.

Business owners are tired of overpaying.

And people appreciate having someone in their corner who can actually shop the market for them.

In just our first full week, we've helped new households and businesses find better coverage, uncovered gaps in existing policies, and received so many quote requests that we had to bring on a full-time assistant to keep up.

After two decades in the insurance business, October 1st marked a brand-new chapter for us as PTR Insurance Agency.

The funny part?

I thought the stressful part would be launching.

Turns out the stressful part is explaining to people that yes, we can now shop multiple carriers... and no, this isn't some insurance fever dream. 😆

The response has been overwhelming, and we're incredibly grateful for every call, referral, quote request, and policy written since launch.

We're just getting started.

Nearly 20 years ago, I opened my office with one simple goal: help people protect what matters most.

Along the way, I've had the privilege of serving incredible families, business owners, and individuals who trusted me with some of life's biggest decisions. Many of you have become far more than clients. You've become friends, neighbors, and part of our story.

Tomorrow marks a new chapter.

After working 20 years in a captive agency model, Kellie and I made the decision to launch PTR Insurance Agency as an independent insurance agency. This wasn't a decision driven by growth alone. It was driven by the people we serve.

Over the years, I've learned that no two clients are alike. Every family, home, vehicle, and business has unique needs. I wanted the freedom to shop multiple highly respected carriers and provide options that truly fit each client's situation, budget, and expectations.

I wanted the ability to offer:

🚀 October 1st marks an exciting new chapter for PTR Insurance.
One of the best ways I can explain the difference between being a captive agent and an independent agent is this:
Customer: “I'd like to see my options.”
Agent: “Here's our option.”
Customer: “Just one?”
Agent: “Yep.”

Insurance has traditionally been one of those purchases where people don't always realize they have choices.
Today, that's changed for us.
As an independent agency, we're no longer limited to a single company's products, pricing, or underwriting appetite.
