So you’ve already taken the step to set up your estate plan and you've got the trusts in place... but do you feel like that plan was actually drafted to keep your kids out of a public courtroom if something happened unexpectedly? The problem is, most people assume that because they have a 'document,' they’re protected. But what happens to your family if there’s a gap you didn't see, and they're the ones forced to sit down with the attorneys and the courts to try and figure it all out while they're grieving?
I mean, you’ve worked this hard to build what you have... who would actually be the person responsible for having to pay the legal fees and navigate the court system if the trust doesn't perform the way you thought it would?
If you feel like you are not completely certain, it may make sense to look at your current structure to see if there are any bottlenecks that could cause issues later on.
