Let's meet our emcee for the Class of 2027!

Debra Lewin is a first generation American who grew up dancing and performing. In 1984, Debra was the Distinguished Young Women of Vermont as well as a National Finalist. Shortly after graduating from The University of Vermont, Debra founded a modeling agency and production company with offices in Burlington, VT and Miami Beach, FL.

Debra and her husband moved to Los Angeles in 1998, and she sold her company in 2003 following the birth of their first child. Debra is a passionate entrepreneur and is currently getting ready to launch her app, caring for her aging parents and teaching puppy yoga. She is a longtime volunteer with our program, previously having been a program judge and held the position of Producer!

Here’s something self-help books won’t often tell you… growth is lonely. That’s why so many people become stuck… and stay stuck. It takes constant commitment, day in and day out to see real growth in your life. When I was building , I spent years, almost a decade, mostly alone. I took myself out to dinner alone, I went to department stores to sell Spanx alone, I even went to hibachi … alone! My social life was almost non-existent. But the alternative wasn’t an option. Before that I was living at home with my mom, selling fax machines door to door and trying to do standup comedy (but I wasn’t that funny). Sure, I had friends, went out all the time and dated a lot. But it got old… fast. Getting your s**t together comes with a price. And not many people are willing to pay it. But if you are, it’s one of the greatest investments you will ever make.

Head down to Carroll Creek Park on New Year's Eve to celebrate the arrival of 2023 with Candle Lights on the Creek!

This special event features lighted candles on the waters of the creek, live music, food, and activities for all from 9PM to the start of the New Year.

At midnight, the annual Key Drop 🗝 will take place and ring in the 275th anniversary celebration of Frederick County. Be a part of history and enjoy a unique New Year's Eve event in the heart of Downtown Frederick.
