Here's what Free to Smile does about it: volunteer surgeons, dentists, and medical professionals travel to underserved communities and provide the surgeries and dental care that change those outcomes entirely.

I've been on those trips. I've watched a child's face change after a procedure. You don't forget it.

I've sat in board meetings for Free to Smile. I've also sat in clinics in underserved communities and watched a child's face change after a surgery that gave them the ability to eat, speak, and smile without pain or shame.

That's not a brochure line. That's something I've lived, and it's why I keep showing up for this organization year after year.

On September 10th, Free to Smile is hosting Creating Smiles 2026, and I'd love for you to be there with me. Whether you can attend the gala or simply want to make a donation, every dollar goes directly toward cleft lip and palate surgeries and dental care for children who would otherwise go without.

This year's work is expanding to new communities in Guatemala and Peru. The need is real, and so is the impact.

We've finished our total shoe count of 1,800 for this year's golf outing and brought our grand total to almost 17,000. We want to thanks Local Threads for our team shirts and the golfer shirts. We want to thank Joseph's Coat for helping collect the shoes and find new homes for them.

Here are some of our winning teams for the 18th Codrea Classic Golf Outing. The most shoes a team brought in today was 630 pairs. We loved best dressed this year! The top three teams and proximity winners all took home some great prizes.

Eighteen years in the making, and this weekend we celebrate all of it. The game, the community, and 10 years of partnership with Joseph's Coat of Central Ohio that has put over 13,000 pairs of shoes into the hands of families who needed them.
