This is our Michigan project. Built in the early 70’s, this home was “framed” of extruded polystyrene using a method called “spiral generation”. It’s basically a styrofoam igloo with wood finishings inside. It needs lot of love due primarily to errors in flashing details around windows. Looking forward to some fun times up there when it’s finished!

Hi everyone!
I've decided to start this page to give those who may be interested a look at what it's REALLY like to own, manage and maintain your own rental properties. There so much garbage on the internet that might have one believe it's a world of secret recipes for making a few phone calls, writing small checks and cashing big ones but the reality is far less sexy. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong, who knows! It's a lot of work, just like any other job but if you like the types of things a day in the life will through you it can be very satisfying. For me it feeds several things that I enjoy which are working directly with tenants, the craft of home building and repair and having the opportunity to operate and grow my own business. Much of what I anticipate posting will be the day to day and I'm always open to hearing your opinions and ideas so feel free to share! At the moment I have a two-unit home in Geneva that I'm doing a full renovation on and another vacation type home in the Traverse City Michigan Area that has some pretty unique features and needs. I also have several other stabilized rentals in the fox valley area so my plate is pretty full right now. Anyway, here goes nothin! Enjoy!!
