You don’t really understand your mom… until life starts looking a lot like hers. 🤣

When we were kids, we truly thought moms just knew how to handle everything.
The rides. The meals. The late nights. The worrying. The person to be the shoulder to cry on. The sacrifices we never even noticed at the time.

And now… here we are.

Trying to build a life.
Trying to protect the people we love.
Trying to make sure our kids feel safe, supported, and cared for the same way we did.

You realize motherhood was never just about showing up for the big moments.
It was all the quiet things behind the scenes.
The planning.
The preparing.
The constant thinking ahead for everyone else.

That kind of love changes a family for generations.

With that, Happy Mother’s Day to the moms, grandmothers, wives, and mother figures who continue to hold everything together with love and strength.

Most importantly, Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom, the one who taught me to always smile, laugh during every moment you can, and love others and this world with your whole heart. The one who showed me what it means to wear your heart on your sleeve and care deeply for the people around you❤️

Sometimes all it takes is a few hours to shift your perspective.

Last week, I volunteered with Greenwich YPG and Filling in the Blanks — packing weekend meals for kids who need them.

1,440 bags.
5,760 meals.
Over 10,000 pounds of food.

Incredible what a group of people can do when they come together for something bigger than themselves.

It was fast-paced, a little chaotic, and honestly… a lot of fun.

But underneath all that energy was a simple reminder:

Not everyone has the same safety net.

And as life moves forward, you start to realize how important it is to be part of that net — for your family, your future, and even your community.

Because at some point, we all go from being taken care of… to being the one others count on.

I was thinking about how easy it used to be to skip the gym.

You’d say “I’ll go tomorrow”… and tomorrow always felt far away.

But somewhere along the way, things change.

It’s not just about looking better.
It’s about showing up… even when you don’t feel like it.
It’s about keeping a promise to yourself, both quietly and consistently.

Because the truth is, growth doesn’t happen all at once.

It’s one rep.
One early morning.
One decision to go when it would’ve been easier to just stay on the couch a few mins longer.

One percent better… over and over again.

And now here we are—building strength that has nothing to do with weights.

The kind that carries into your work.
Your family.
Your future.

Because the habits you build today…
are the foundation for the life you’re growing into tomorrow.

The moment finally came…

I found myself saying to a college student, “back in the day when I was in college.” Gosh it made me feel like my parents age.🤣

And then it hit me…

I’ve been out of college far longer than I was in it.

And just like that, it took me back.

The late nights. Last-minute studying. Trying to figure out what was the most exciting or crazy thing we could do on the weekend or even just on a Thursday night. Then nearing graduation and the conversations about the future like it was something so far away. Back then, everything felt like it was just getting started.

And now here we are.

Somewhere along the way, life sped up. Careers started. Families grew. Priorities shifted. What once felt like “someday” quietly became right now.

And the perspective changes too.

It’s no longer just about our future… it’s about theirs.

I find myself talking with people who are in that same season, thinking about what it will look like when their kids take that same step we once did. Wanting to give them opportunities. Wanting them to have a strong start… without carrying the weight we didn’t fully understand back then.

It’s a different kind of responsibility.

A quieter one. But a bigger one.

Because one day, they’ll be the ones sitting in those classrooms, having those same conversations about the future.

And what we do today… plays a part in that story.

Funny how life comes full circle like that.

I really believe that.

Spending time with a friend in his 80s reminds me why I do what I do.

People say I’m an old soul… but really, I just love connecting with others and learning from different walks of life.

I have so much love for my friends ❤️

We grew up together.

From hanging out in our parents’ basements and doing sleepovers…
To late-night drives, hours of video games, cross country invitationals, track meets, and talking about what life might look like someday.

Then came college, careers, moves to new cities, and the moments where we slowly started figuring out who we were becoming—while falling in love with the people who would become our partners in life.

And now here we are… celebrating the first baby in the group.

It’s wild to think about how fast life moves. One minute you’re worrying about homework and curfews, trying to sneak out and have fun with your friends… and the next you’re becoming parents, talking about nursery colors, college funds, and the kind of life you want to build for your kids.

Moments like this are a reminder of what really matters—family, friendship, and protecting the people we love.

As life changes, so do our responsibilities. Planning ahead, building financial security, and making sure our families are protected isn’t just about money—it’s about giving the next generation the same love, stability, and opportunity we were lucky enough to grow up with.

From basement hangouts to baby showers…
The story keeps getting better.

And the best part? We’re still doing it together 😉
