We had a wonderful time connecting with our credit union partners in-person at Synergent Connect 2026, held August 10–11 in Portland, Maine. Over 150 attendees from 48 credit unions learned from industry-renowned keynote speakers, were able to hear updates and ask questions during a panel discussion with Synergent leadership, participated in breakout sessions, and had fun networking at an evening social and traditional Maine lobster bake. https://hubs.la/Q04tqnSQ0

“What’s going to happen with artificial intelligence is, as we have the ability to be more innovative, we will all have to innovate more.”

Jonathan Brill, strategic advisor, inventor, best-selling author, and renowned keynote speaker, is challenging attendees to think beyond simply experimenting with artificial intelligence during his presentation, “AI & The Octopus Organization™.”

As AI continues to reshape how organizations operate, Jonathan is exploring why resilience alone is no longer enough. Organizations must develop the agility to sense changes early, respond intelligently to customer needs, and adapt faster than their competitors.

Using the octopus as a model, Jonathan is sharing how organizations can rethink traditional structures through decentralized intelligence, AI-augmented decision-making, and empowered teams. The goal isn’t simply to automate existing tasks, but to reimagine how organizations function at every level to prepare for an AI-driven future.

“How can data be used to improve your operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity?”

Nicole Harper, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy & Planning at Jack Henry, is on the stage presenting “Built for This Moment: How Credit Unions Win in a Disrupted Financial Future.”

The future of financial services will not belong only to the biggest players. It will belong to the institutions that stay most relevant to the people and communities they serve. Credit unions were built for moments like this because they can leverage the human advantage and “people helping people” still wins when it shows up in modern form. Nicole is exploring how credit unions can drive efficiency and unlock growth opportunities in today’s environment of volatility and disruption. The market is changing, but the credit union movement’s mission has never been more relevant. When credit unions lead with mission, execute with discipline, and effectively balance short-term pressures and long-term ambitions, they can lean in and grow with confidence.

At the center of the conversation is a familiar credit union philosophy—people helping people—and what it takes to continue delivering on that mission in a rapidly changing financial landscape.

Change is inevitable, but the strength comes from adaptability. In his presentation, Chris is challenging attendees to rethink how they respond to uncertainty. He is exploring how organizations can reframe resistance to change as an opportunity for growth, create psychological safety and trust, and develop a mindset for navigating disruption with clarity and confidence.
