🦊 Did you know foxes are one of the most adaptable mammals in the Kawarthas?
A few years ago, a fox arrived at Westwind Inn in Buckhorn looking like it was struggling with mange. With time, a safe habitat, and nature doing what nature does best, it recovered and became a familiar sight around the resort.
This spring, it returned with a mate and now there’s a kit exploring the property!
In my latest article for Kawartha Lakes Weekly, I explore the fascinating lives of foxes, including their mating habits, family life, and how we can peacefully coexist with these beautiful wild neighbours.
The story is a wonderful reminder that when we give wildlife space and respect, nature can thrive right alongside us.
