Taking a 2-week vacation was awesome but very exhausting!
Planning the trip felt exciting (AKA my wife did it all), but it was also overwhelming with her asking me to pick things to do.
True Story:
We booked a trip to Italy and Greece.
Flights? Booked.
Hotel? Booked.
Plans? None. Loosely sightseeing and whatever Instagram Reels/TikTok had to offer.
We spent half the trip Googling “things to do near me,” overpaid for some last-minute tours, and missed out on experiences—just because I didn’t plan ahead.
I felt like I wasted time and wished I would've done things differently.
Often I hear the same thing in financial conversations.
People are earning well… saving a bit… investing here and there…
But without a plan, they’re:
• Paying more in taxes than they need to
• Missing opportunities
• Feeling unsure if they’re even on track
Something that comes up from clients “I make good money. I just don’t feel organized.”
Often they're feeling what I experienced: Going on vacation with no itinerary
The truth is most people don’t fail financially because they’re lazy.
They fail because they’re winging it.
So here’s the question, are you planning ahead for all the important items on this journey we call life or are you just hoping that you end up somewhere good?
Also, they should feed you on a cruise ship before making you do the safety brief. If you can't tell, I was a little hangry going through the brief!
Luckily I ate plenty the rest of the trip to make up it!
