The Insurance Industry has changed. Follow these tips to continue enjoying favorable pricing and insurance continuity.

1. Pay your insurance on time avoid a bad payment history and or cancellations. Companies are cancelling folks for a poor payment history.
2. Verify coverages by requesting a declarations page. Make sure that you have what you requested when you purchased your contract. Once you are in a claim you will not be able to "fix" issues.
3. Apply for electronic payments and electronic delivery of documents this will save you time and money.
4. Buy multiple policies with same company. Auto, home or rental coverage, umbrella coverage, jewelry, pet insurance, and toy policies (motorcycle policies) Companies offer bigger discounts for your loyalty.
5. Find out what the sweet spot is for your particular company most times you get "better" coverage for less.
6. Go to an agent that can offer you multiple company options all pricing is competitive.

Up to $500 in labor and $5,000 in towing to the nearest qualified repair facility. ($250 deductible applies at time of service.)

This weekend's deep freeze caused frozen pipes and widespread flooding across New England. Our teams are working around the clock to make sure our customers are taken care of. In the meantime, we hope these answers to some frequently asked questions will help:

Will Insurance Companies cover the cost to thaw frozen pipes?

Generally, no. Thawing is considered a preventative measure and is not included in insurance policies. Additionally, please remember to never use hair dryers, blow torches, space heaters, or other hazardous tools to thaw their pipes.

Does AXiA Torres have a list of plumbers I can recommend to my customers?
AXiA TTorres Insurance Groupdoes not have a list of plumbers. We encourage you to call plumbers who have been recommended to you or your customers by friends or family members.

Since plumbers are in high demand, customers should not delay repairs while waiting for an inspection. Instead, customers should call a plumber immediately and ask the plumber to leave the damaged section of the pipe for adjuster to view. Please take photos of the damage to share with adjusters as well.

What should I know about condo claims?
If you are reporting claims under a condo policy (HO6), please report it to the property management company or the master policy insurer as well. We will need to obtain a copy of the condo trust documents including the bylaws and master deed. Providing or requesting this information when you first notify us about the loss will help us better assist our customers.

What can our customers do while they wait for services?
Due to high claim volume, we suggest customers reach out to local mitigation companies immediately. These services are in high demand at the moment, but may be able to help customers prevent further losses to their homes. Additionally, customers can clean out any standing water that may be present, and use fans or dehumidifiers to remove excess moisture.

Please turn off the water to their homes, especially if you are unable to locate where their leaks are coming from. You may be able to do this by shutting off your water main valve, typically located in the basement where the main water line enters the structure. If you are unable to find this valve, they may need to call your town. This small step will help prevent further damage and issues.

Every claim is important to us.
In the event of a loss, please keep an accurate record of repair expenditures including any photographs and receipts. Some or all of these expenses may be reimbursed depending on the terms and provisions of the policy.
