Avoid or delay traveling (driving and walking) this morning as the whole region is experiencing freezing temperatures and freezing rain. Paved surfaces have glare ice/black ice on them. Very treacherous! If you do have to travel, take an abundance of caution and TAKE YOUR TIME!

Frigid Air To Arrive Tonight & Tomorrow

A surge of Arctic air will sweep into New England Thursday behind a fast-moving cold front, bringing sudden snow squalls and strong, gusty winds. Windchill values are expected to drop into the single digits, creating hazardous travel conditions and an increased risk of frozen pipes and property damage.

Insulate Pipes: Ensure all exposed pipes are properly insulated to prevent them from freezing.
Keep Heat On: Maintain a consistent indoor temperature, even when away from your property.
Faucet Drip: Allow faucets to drip slightly, as moving water is less likely to freeze.
Know Your Shut-Off Valve: Your main water shut-off valve can prevent extensive water damage.

Stay alert and prepare accordingly to safeguard your home or property during this cold snap.

Have you checked your auto limits of liability lately?
Keep in mind that if you currently have low/minimal limits of liability coverage of $20,000 per person/$40,000 per accident bodily injury liability (20/40) and $5,000 property damage liability (5)(something we do NOT ever recommend), Massachusetts will be increasing these limits come this summer to 25/50 and 30. These increases are way overdue, not having been updated in over 30+ years. Premiums will increase accordingly. If you already have limits of liability at or above those, you should not be affected. Contact our office with any questions.

I will be working at the FREE Child Car Seat check today, Saturday, October 26 from 9am to 1pm at the Chicopee, MA Home Depot parking lot with several of my fellow Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Stop by and get your little one’s car seat checked out for proper use, installation and an inspection. If you need a replacement on the spot, they are free of charge (if available).

When’s the last time you had your auto insurance reviewed? Do you know what your Collision and Comprehensive deductibles are?? Did you know that the average cost to reduce your Comprehensive deductible for your vehicle from $500 to $300 is only about $2-$5 per year?! Think about that. Pennies per month.
